Title Developing Conceptual Understanding in Lower Elementary Mathematics using Game-Based Activities
Description

A game-based activity in mathematics classrooms is an effective strategy to engage students in developing the underlying skills required to win the game. This module aims at introducing the use of games in the lower elementary classrooms as an approach to teaching and tracking the development of conceptual understanding in counting, pattern recognition and basic arithmetic. Participants will engage in dissecting the elements of a game-based activity and understand the impact on their students’ progress along with a learning continuum.
