Description

Proficiency in mathematics can only be achieved through conceptual understanding. Mathematics concepts at the Upper Elementary years, are often presented in abstraction from the real-life contexts that justify the need for teaching them. This module aims at exposing teachers to engaging Problem-Solving tasks that foster a deep understanding of fractions, proportionality and measurement. By improving the authenticity of these tasks, teachers will guide their students to observing everyday life problem-solving situations with a mathematical eye.
