Title Inquiry-based Teaching and Learning in Mathematics: What does it look like in High School?
Description

High school mathematics is often criticized for being taught with a lecture-intensive approach. Even though most teachers recognize the benefit of using an inquiry-based approach, the main roadblock to implementation is the issue of syllabus coverage and time constraint. This module aims at providing high school teachers with heuristics for triggering and nurturing their students’ “creativity” in mathematics by choosing, developing and planning adequate tasks that make the learning goals explicit and empower students to invest time and effort in acquiring the necessary knowledge and skills for completing these tasks.
