Title Starting with Oral Language: Speaking and Listening as Drivers of Learning
Description

Oral Language is so much more than ʺShow and Tellʺ. By teaching oral language explicitly as the foundation of all learning, we can align our classroom practices to the natural way language learning occurs in our mother tongues. Teachers can support students through providing a range of activities to further develop the understanding that oral language needs can change according to a specific situation. This module will explore ways of making the implicit, explicit in oral communication. It will provide opportunities for teachers to apply the new understanding to plan for their students to practice and develop their speaking and listening skills in rich and real contexts.
