Mindfulness practice has been shown to be transformational in improving teacher wellbeing. Building resilience, strengthening relationships and supporting emotion regulation are some of the proven benefits. This first of three short courses is an introduction to mindfulness, taking you through an explorative journey to discover what is happening in the body and mind moment to moment. Having developed stress reducing skills you will be prepared for Phase 2 in January.
In this second of three courses, you will continue your journey of self-discovery and develop an awareness of thoughts, emotions and actions, how these are linked and how to thoughtfully respond in situations. You will understand what it means to teach mindfully as you begin to embody the qualities of mindfulness, and may already start to notice positive changes in your learning environment.
Together with your embodiment of mindfulness, teaching mindfulness activities has been shown to promote a calmer, less stressful classroom. In this third course you will continue to develop your own mindfulness practice as you further discover what it means to teach mindfully, and understand how mindfulness practice can improve students' concentration, relationships, self-esteem and general wellbeing.
